November 7, 2002 - Lebanon OH - Amzi! adds a .NET Logic Server class to make it easy to deploy logical rules and non-procedural knowledge from .NET applications. The .NET Logic Server extends the existing family of Logic Server interfaces and classes that have a ten year track record providing an affordable alternative for creating intelligent components for tools such as Web servers, Java, C++, Delphi and VB.
All Logic Server interfaces and classes allow the calling application to query non-procedural knowledge and logical rules much as an application queries a database. Unlike databases, logicbases can also call back to VB, C#, Java, C++ and Delphi code. This allows logicbases to reason over external data. It also provides optimal performance and flexibility for high-end, server-based applications.
The latest release includes examples for VB.NET, C#.NET and ASP.NET demonstrating a wide range of intelligent application possibilities. Amzi! users have implemented systems to configure and price windows and doors, schedule satellite transmissions in real-time, implement pricing and underwriting rules for mortgages, automate the filing of insurances forms and deliver 24/7 tech support on the Web.
Amzi! also provides a full line of cost effective tools for developing, maintaining and deploying logicbases and knowledgebases accessible through the Logic Server. Amzi! Prolog + Logic Server is available for Windows, Linux and Solaris. It can readily be installed on many other operating systems including HP/UX and AIX. The product is free for academic, personal and evaluation use and can be downloaded from www.amzi.com/download. Standard Licenses start at $795, Professional Licenses start at $2,500 and Enterprise/Source Code licenses start at $30,000.
