Sealevel Systems Announces New OPC Server Digital I/O Family
by Anonymous

For Immediate Release

Liberty, SC (August 19th, 2002) - Sealevel Systems, Inc., a member of the OPC Foundation, announces a new OPC Server platform: The SeaLINK-I/O family. SeaLINK-I/O products connect to any USB port to provide interface to a variety of digital signals. Based upon Microsoft’s OLE/COM technology, the OPC (or OLE for Process Control) standard makes possible interoperability between automation and control applications, field systems and devices and business/office applications. Implementation of the OPC software interface allows monitoring and control of the SeaLINK-I/O from any OPC-enabled client including today’s most popular HMI, SCADA, and control application software.

The user can choose from six different SeaLINK-I/O modules offering a selection of digital I/O, optically isolated inputs, and Form C relay outputs, affording easy connection to solid state relay racks, switches, sensors and other common devices. SeaLINK-I/O modules can be DIN rail mounted and are designed to withstand the challenges of the industrial environment.

In addition to the SeaLINK–I/O devices, Sealevel offers a variety of other OPC compatible hardware, including PCI bus and ISA bus compatible I/O adapters. Options range from up to 96 channels of digital I/O, 32 Reed relay outputs and multi-channel optically isolated inputs. Each of these devices shares the same OPC connectivity advantages as the SeaLINK-I/O family.

Sealevel Systems, founded in 1986, provides communications and I/O solutions for multiple platforms including PCI Bus, ISA Bus, PC Card (PCMCIA), and PC/104.
